I Love Maggie Mae

Look at her smile! Isn't she just beautiful? She is a great dog.

This is one of the neatest stories you will ever hear. You will know precisely what this little girl is talking about at the end (you'll want to share this one with your loved ones and special friends)!

"Danielle keeps repeating it over and over again. We've been back to this animal shelter at least five times. It has been weeks now since we started all of this," the mother told the volunteer.

"What is it she keeps asking for?" the volunteer asked.

"Puppy size!" replied the mother.

"Well, we have plenty of puppies, if that's what she's looking for."

"I know...we have seen most of them," the mom said in frustration...

Just then Danielle came walking into the office.

"Well, did you find one?" asked her mom. "

No, not this time," Danielle said with sadness in her voice. "Can we come back on the weekend?"

The two women looked at each other, shook their heads and laughed.

"You never know when we will get more dogs. Unfortunately, there's always a supply," the volunteer said.

Danielle took her mother by the hand, and headed to the door. "Don't worry, I'll find one this weekend," she said.

Over the next few days both mom and dad had long conversations with her. They both felt she was being too particular. "It's this weekend or we're not looking any more," Dad finally said in frustration. "We don't want to hear anything more about puppy size either," Mom added.

Sure enough, they were the first ones in the shelter on Saturday morning. By now Danielle knew her way around, so she ran right for the section that housed the smaller dogs. Tired of the routine, mom sat in the small waiting room at the end of the first row of cages. There was an observation window so you could see the animals during times when visitors weren't permitted.

Danielle walked slowly from cage to cage, kneeling periodically to take a closer look. One by one the dogs were brought out, and she held each one. One by one she said, "Sorry, you're not the one."

It was the last cage on this last day in search of the perfect pup. The volunteer opened the cage door, and the child carefully picked up the dog, and held it closely. This time she took a little longer.

"Mom, that's it! I found the right puppy! He's the one! I know it!" she screamed with joy. "It's the puppy size!"

"But it's the same size as all the other puppies you held over the last few weeks," Mom said.

"No not size.. the sighs. When I held him in my arms, he sighed," she said. "Don't you remember? When I asked you one day what love is, you told me love depends on the sighs of your heart. The more you love, the bigger the sigh!"
The two women looked at each other for a moment. Mom didn't know whether to laugh or cry. As she stooped down to hug the child, she did a little of both.

"Mom, every time you hold me, I sigh. When you and Daddy come home from work, and hug each other, you both sigh. I knew I would find the right puppy if it sighed when I held it in my arms," she said. Then holding the puppy up close to her face she said, "Mom, he loves me. I heard the sighs of his heart!"

Close your eyes for a moment, and think about the love that makes you sigh. I not only find it in the arms of my loved ones, but in the caress of a sunset, the kiss of the moonlight and the gentle brush of cool air on a hot day. They are the sighs of God. Take the time to stop and listen; you will be surprised at what you hear.

"Life is not measured by the breaths we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away."

What is a grandmother to do when her grandson is so adorable? But drive, yet again, to Phoenix, for more babyboy kisses.

My Grandpa's Been Found!

On my retreat last month in Mount Shasta, I met author and doctor, Walter Semkiw,"Return of the Revolutionaries". It was by chance that I happened to be standing near the book stand while chatting with a fellow colleague. As the subject of a genetic link to intuitive abilities came up, I mentioned that I was related to President John Adams. He was my great-great-great....etc. grandfather on my mother's side. Her eyes widened and she pointed to a book that was right in front of me and told me that the author was in attendance. On the cover of his book, beneath the title and picture is a row of blue stars. It says, "The Case For Reincarnation and Soul Groups Reunited" Walter Semkiw, M.D. aka John Adams.
Well, I had to buy the book and track this man down. He was pointed out to me and as I approached him I was overwhelmed with emotion. I wasn't sure why it came over me so suddenly. As soon as I began to introduce myself I began to well up. I could hardly speak, embarrassingly so. After a moment or two or three, I composed myself and told him that I am, indeed, a descendant of John Adams. He hugged me and I was filled with an emotion I cannot describe. I thought perhaps the emotional response was a leftover from our morning meditation, or perhaps I hadn't had enough sleep the night before, but none of that made sense. This emotional reaction was foreign and yet, very familiar. He signed my copy of his book, "Dear Elizabeth, It is wonderful to meet my great, great, great granddaughter! God Bless, Walter Semkiw, aka John Adams."

I've been very busy since my return from Mount Shasta, as you know, and only this morning picked up his book for a good Sunday read. Perhaps Grandpa won't mind if I share a bit....

"The question will be raised, if this book is about reincarnation, why is it entitled, Return of the Revolutionaries? The reason for this title is that most of the people in my series of cases were incarnate during the time of the American Revolution. In my final analysis, the leaders of the American Revolution make up my karmic group. Souls who led the American Revolution are incarnate again today. Some, such as George W. Bush, Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Jesse Ventura, and Ralph Nader, are involved primarily in politics. Others, such as Marianne Williamson, John Hagelin, Robert Roth, Dennis Kucinich, and Jo Streit, are involved in spiritualizing our political landscape. Still others, such as Shirley MacLaine, Kevin Ryerson, Neale Donald Walsch, Lisete Larkins, Caroline Myss, Norman Shealy, Gary Zukav, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Oprah Winfrey, and Kary Mullis, have returned to advance spirituality in America and the world.

In total, I believe that these leaders of the American Revolutionary Era have returned with a group project of enacting a spiritual revolution. Some group members are more conscious of this plan than others. By spiritual revolution, I do not mean a literal revolt, but rather, a spiritual awakening. Part of this awakening involves the recognition that reincarnation is how the human soul evolves. Through "Return of the Revolutionaries", the doctrine of reincarnation is being demonstrated.

I would now like to discuss some of the changes that I believe evidence of reincarnation will bring.

One of the most beneficial and needed effects that an understanding of reincarnation will induce is a mitigation of violence between people belonging to different races, religions, and ethnic backgrounds. This change is vitally needed, given events such as the destruction of the World Trade Center and the daily ration of violence and killing that we observe between people of contrasting cultures. The evidence presented in this book shows that people change religious, ethnic, and racial affiliations from lifetime to lifetime. An example of how religion can change is seen in the case of writer Marianne Williamson, who is identified in a latter chapter as the reincarnation of Abigail Adams (GRANDMA!) as most American colonists from England, was Christian in religious orientation. Marianne Williamson, on the other hand, identifies herself as a Jewish woman.

Once people realize that religious affiliation constitutes a temporary belief system, that one can be Christian in one lifetime and Jewish, Islamic, Hindu, or Buddhist in another, then conflicts based on the affiliations will be seen as self-defeating and absurd. Indeed, we all must stop thinking of ourselves exclusively as Christians, Jews, Muslims, or Hindus, for in the span of lifetimes, we become all of these, and more.

I believe that knowledge of the mechanism of reincarnation will help humanity evolve from a tribal mentality, in which we identify with one particular religious, ethnic, racial, or nationalistic group, to the stage of the Universal Human. As a Universal Human, one understands and respects many cultures, but does not align one's self with any one denomination. People such as Gary Zukzv and Barbara Marx Hubbard are forwarding the concept of the Universal Human. The information provided in this book will provide a greater foundation for their ideas. I am thankful for their contributions.

I am also happy that Marianne Williamson is part of the drama that is unfolding. For just as Abigail Adams was an eminent advocate for the cause of the American Revolution, I can think of no better spokesperson for the new reality, the new values and the new set of ideals that will emerge. A revolution of spirit will occur as we make the transition from a tribal mentality, from the tribal human, to the Universal Human. This revolution is necessary for the human species to survive."

Denver is beautiful today.

I got a couple of emails today asking if I was still blogging. I've been offline because I've been traveling and for some reason my daughter's computer won't let me get to my blog. Shanon, honey? Please get a wireless router.

THIS IS A REPEAT FROM LAST FEBUARY...FOR A CLIENT.

I left Idyllwild last Sunday after a long weekend of channeling and private sessions. I then drove to Phoenix with my dog, Maggie and got to hold my sweetest angels Michael and Marlie. Shanon had called a week before and asked for a reading because she and Danny have suspected a spirit has taken up residence in their home. They sense it. At one point Shanon even saw it a few times out of the corner of her eye, flitting down the hallway. Michael has mentioned that someone keeps opening his bedroom door and coming into his room. Danny, her husband, told her that he came into the house the other day and felt the presence of someone so strongly that he was compelled to search every room and check all the doors and windows.
We waited a few days after my arrival to do the reading because we wanted a time alone, when Michael wasn't glued to my side. During those first days, I, too, noticed a light zoom about. We finally had an evening when Danny was at work and Michael was at his grandparent's house. We settled into the family room with Marlie nearby in her cradle. We lit a candle and as soon as our session began the little spirit appeared. At first she was just a wisp of light, like a sprite. I watched her as she blossomed into a tall and lovely woman figure, with a flower wreath in her hair. I asked her why she was there and she told me that we called her when we were all praying for Marlie. For those of you who don't know this, Marlie was flown to St. Joseph's in Phoenix when she was only three days old. She had to have heart surgery. I had called on all of my friends and family to say prayers for her. If you scroll down to earlier posts you can read all about it. Anyway, this beautiful spirit said she came here to protect her and care for Marlie. Her energy was very sweet and soft. Shanon decided after a bit of time that this entity was like an angel and so she was given permission to stay and watch over our baby. Half-way through the session Marlie began to fuss and cry. I turned to the guardian and asked her to soothe Marlie so we could finish. She went to her and stroked her cheek. The baby settled down immediately. Shanon and I exchanged a look of shear amazement.

I'm in Denver tonight and will be here until Thursday. Shanon just called to tell me she got some pictures developed and one of them shows Marlie's guardian. Several pictures of Michael holding his baby sister were taken, all from the same angle, same camera, same time of day. In all but one, Marlie is looking at Michael. One of them, the one above, she is looking at her guardian. Amazing how the veil is thinning. If you click on the photo it will enlarge.

Here's an observation....

I've been affirming, intending and scripting to experience radiant health. The Universe has been sending me messages everyday guiding me to that experience, if only I would follow the messages.

Everyday we get to choose, to wish, to dream or to ask for anything we want. That's step one in the creating process. Know what you want. Ask for it. When the Universe or God or your Spirit Guides bring opportunities for you to achieve what it is you are asking, it is still up to you to hear the knock, see the path, listen to the message and take ACTION. It's not enough to want it.....It's not enough to ask for it. Step two is "TAKE ACTION".

I know that when I wake up in the morning and say, "My health is most important." and sit with the vibration of that statement for a full minute, I tend to make better choices about what I eat, if I exercise or not, and what I drink to quench my thirst. Lately I've been focused on other things and so when I get hungry I have no plan in place and no energy behind the idea of "radiant health", I just eat whatever sounds good at the time and whatever is fastest and most convenient. Even though, my Spirit Guides, God and The Universal Energy Field, present to me other options.

Last week my morning script went something like this. "I want to feel radiant health today." That afternoon a client offered me the use of her mega-uber juicer. Yesterday I contacted a photographer friend of mine from many years ago, and she's coming over today to take some pictures I hope to use on the new website. While catching up with each others lives, she shared with me that she eats only raw foods and that she feels "RADIANT". I've been drawn to more salads but I tend to want sweets, against my better feelings. Taking action to move in the direction your guides provide, is a choice.

Today my script is this. "I want to feel and experience radiant health and I have divine guidance and perfect wisdom to achieve it. Intuitive Eating is my mantra!"
You see, I know that my body and my intuition will never lead me astray. My intuition would never say, "Let's go get a root beer float.". My lower self may say that.

Yesterday I walked around one of the largest malls in America. I had taken my car in for service and had some time to kill. I shopped and shopped for something to wear for our photo shoot today. I got depressed when I kept looking in the mirror and seeing how I have let my body down. What did my lower self say? "I'm hungry. Let's go get a treat." I walked over to Johny Rockets for a sundae. I went to the restroom first to wash my hands, and used the mirror to take a good look into my eyes. "What are you doing Elizabeth? Is this in your best interests? Your script is saying something else. What ACTION DO YOU WANT TO TAKE?"

I left Johnny Rockets and walked a little further. There was J.Jill's window with the perfect outfit for me. I tried it on and it fit. I love it. ....

Your soul, your higher self, your intuition, your truth will never let you down. You must be able to listen and follow the path you intended.

Every year....

Every year, at this time, I get a bug. Not the running, sneezing, coughing kind, the cleaning, scrubbing, hauling, clearing-out, kind. This current episode of "Sacred Space Fever" started after I returned from the Mount Shasta "Spiritual Healing Retreat". I have evidence I got my groove back because my energy has been on High Volume ever since. Because of my newly cleansed and re-charged spirit, I have received a vision of my new Sacred Space. Once I saw it, I had to create it. I wanted my space to reflect what I was now feeling, Spacious, Graceful, Grounded and Creative.

A few years ago we remodeled our 1980s kitchen and it turned out beautifully. We are very happy with it, but we didn't finish the rest of the large open floor area that includes the dining room, living room and deck. The reasons are partially because the kitchen project ate up all and more of our budget and partially because I had lost my momentum and focus. I had a traumatic experience that simply threw me for a loop and it took nearly two years to get back on my path. When my baby granddaughter was born last December I was forced back into the healing zone because of her health issues. Consequently, my focus was all about healing...therefore I was healed. "Energy flows where your attention goes."

So, there I was....sitting in the dining room, feeling all expanded and spiritually cleansed and re-charged when the vision came over me. "I want color here!" I got out my brushes and opened the sample cans of paint and let 'er rip. Once I got started I couldn't stop until it was complete.

Usually these yearly episodes don't include redecorating, although they often include rearranging. This time the cleaning and reorganizing has taken on a new and huge expanded version of my yearly bug episode.

It started in the dining room and blasted through the living room, down to my bedroom and patio and up into the loft. From one small wall.....I've been at it non stop ever since. One project always leads to the next.

The night before last, I was lying on the bed in the loft, watching TV. (I've moved my bedroom television out to the garage to find it's way to a new home.) While lying there, I got another brilliant idea. Build a cabinet around the television! Another sacred message! Make a beautiful space here too! So,yesterday I drove to Home Depot and bought a Skill saw and some wood, a level and some brackets and by bedtime last night, it was complete. Which, of course, led to the hanging of curtains, the switching of duvets, the hanging of art, and my loft is now inspection ready. I don't know who is going to inspect it, but it's ready.

Here is what I've accomplished in September.

1. Painted the dining room walls and baseboards
2. Painted the living room walls and baseboards
3. Painted the fireplace.
4. Removed old drapes.
5. Re-arranged living room furniture.
6. Bought new coffee table, LCD flat screen TV and TV table, and wall unit for living room.
7. Re-upholstered a bench.
8. Bought new pillows for the couch.
9. Bought a new dining room table, chairs and bar stools
10.Re-arranged furniture in bedroom.
11.Painted patio off of bedroom
12.Removed bench from front porch.
13.Bought new ceiling fan for living room
14.New area rug for dining room
15.New art,"Thinking Woman" (wood carving), Driftwood piece (I love it), hand carved wooden bowl with hand painted wooden eggs.
16.Built cabinet in loft.
17 Made new desk in loft and removed and sawed up the old one.
18 Gave away or sold old book shelves, old bar stools, porch bench, old coffee table and end table, two televisions and a bunch of odds and ends like books and dust collectors.(including the old clothes I cleaned out of my closet)
19.Broke down the 4' by 6' planter box I built last summer for the sod. (for Maggie's business)
20.Planted pots on patios
21.Cleaned windows
22.Cleaned out hall closets, bedroom closet cupboards, medicine cabinets, and all drawers.

My space is now open for new inspired flow of energy, like a wave in the ocean, it carries to me all that I need to make my life happy and complete. And so it is.

From Steven ... thank you...

Kuan Yin, often called “the Mother Mary of the East,” is, according to Doreen Virtue in "Archangels & Ascended Masters", a goddess from the Buddhist religion who is, among other things, “devoted to helping us fully open up to our spiritual gifts.” Ms. Virtue sends us this message directly from Kuan Yin and I interrupt with some commentary in brackets:

“Here are my sacred instructions: First, have mercy upon yourselves. [judgments] You have endured much in your land, and you have eons of lessons yet before you. Only through a gentle touch is Nirvana revealed. Stretch and reach for greatness, but always with a gentle approach. Seek not opportunities, but allow them to gently come to you as a lotus flower floats upon the currents of water amidst a gentle breeze. [law of attraction] Strive, but not with hurry — enjoy the process upon which you embark [be present]. Know that each step along the way is akin to a party — a celebration of movement, which is itself a miracle [here for a reason].

“Appreciate the godliness within yourself, within each of you [all connected]. Do not chide yourself for your errors and mistakes, [judgments] but laugh, grow, and learn from them instead. You, my gentle child, are doing just fine — in fact, very well indeed. [belief; choice]

“If I were to give you any word of wisdom, it would be the word that best embodies love upon this Earth plane to me: compassion [compassion]. Growing past all shame and embarrassment [judgments], and moving toward appreciation [gratitude], not just for the ‘good’ parts of yourself and others, but for all along the way — it’s all good, believe me. And if you can know that as the eternal truth sooner rather than later, your happiness will come galloping toward you at the speed of mustangs with winged hooves. Believe that as the truth [belief; choice]. Now.

“Wisdom comes from sitting still and listening [listen to inspiration] not from rushing to get ahead. A still heart receives love and information more readily than one that is harried. Do something simple today: Pick a flower and simply study it with no intent. Be blank. Be open [be present]. And know that whatever comes to you is good, and a lesson in the making — always and forever.”

Sunday Sunrise Service

The sun came up again today, as it has for billions and billions of days before. Nothing new, just the sun peeking up over the city, over the low clouds in the East. I sat in my living room with my morning cup of coffee, looking out the big glass windows, appreciating the quiet, the warm glow, the promise of a new day. My house sits on a hill between the ocean and the city. My living room faces the eastern skies.

My Sunday morning service began with a prayer of gratitude for the seasons and cycles of the Earth. I am grateful for Her rhythms and her constant unconditional supply of the air that we breath, the water that we drink, the food that we eat. She provides us all that we need to survive in these bodies and we take it for granted that she will continue to do so for our children's children's children.

Today I script to feel love for our Earth. I want to feel appreciation and gratitude for the perfect balance and beauty of Nature. I want to feel love for my body and my strength and my radiant health. I graciously give back to Mother Earth, unconditional love for her life-sustaining supply and her natural ability to heal. I will look for evidence, today. Evidence that she is healing and that her healing is also a relection of the healing of the hearts and minds of mankind.

It Travel Time Again!

It's Autumn, my favorite season of the year! The air is crisp, the leaves will be turning soon, the beaches are empty (except for the locals) and the smell of simmering stews and soups and roasted yummies will soon fill the house.

Fall fashions are the best, too. Boots, sweaters, tweeds and scarfs are so attractive. Macy's is having a sale for the occasion.

I've strung orange and red berries on my dining room chandelier to make a festive statement and it looks fabulous.

This afternoon I'm taking a short trip to the mountain resort of Idyllwild. My friend, Steven, and I haven't had a good long visit in far too long. He has stories to tell of his adventures at "Burning Man" and I have yet to tell him about my retreat in Mount Shasta. We'll be up till the wee hours I suspect, as usual. I'll return late tomorrow in time for evening clients.

I'm driving to Phoenix next month, in time for Halloween. 9 month old Marlie and 4 year old Michael have their costumes already. They have official Denver Bronco uniforms. Michael will be a Bronco football player and Marlie, a Bronco cheerleader. Their father has been a Bronco fan since he was a little boy, having been born in Denver and a football player himself. What's more is, Shanon, my daughter, and Danny met when they were only 11 years old. Danny was a Pop Warner football player on the Packers team and Shanon was a cheerleader for them. We have pictures of them in their uniforms when they first went steady back in 1986. I can't wait to see the babies in their Halloween costumes on Marlie's first trick-or-treat venture.

The day after, I will fly to Denver to visit friends and work with clients. Carm and Karl have moved into a new home. They downsized from the Castle Rock 3800 sq. ft. house to an 1800 sq. ft. townhouse in the city. Carm is a Feng Shui consultant and a marvelous decorator. I'm very eager to see their new digs, and catch up on the family's comings and goings. Carm and Karl have become dear friends in the short time we've known each other. I don't think it's been two years since I first stayed in their Castle Rock guest room.

I'll also visit my friends, The Jeans, and perhaps get some time with Jen and her kids while in Denver. It's going to be a jammed packed week. I have to fly back to Phoenix by Nov. 9th for the "Celebrate Your Life" conference in Scottsdale. Four days of lectures and presentations from the world's most published and admired leaders of the New Age movement in Higher Consciousness Trainings. Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, James Van Praagh, to name a few. I'll be fortified on my return to my beach town on Nov 13th only to return to Phoenix in time for Thanksgiving. November is going to be a busy, busy month. I'd better get myself some boots!

Welcome Autumm Moons and spectacular sunsets....!

My daughter's birthday

Shanon will turn 32 on Thursday. I can't believe it. I was a single mother from the time she was 9 months old. The two of us are our family. We did everything together. I worked as an independent contractor with the Manhattan Club For Women as a massage therapist in order to keep my schedule flexible for my baby girl. I was home in the mornings to see her off to school and home on all but two evenings so I could read to her and tuck her in. We baked together, played together and sang songs everyday. I loved being her mother. She was a delightful child with curly curls and a great big smile.

Shanon is a terrific mother now. She's a cookie baker, sandwich maker, bedtime story mommy. I love her with all of my heart.

Happy Birthday, my angel.

Scripting

Scripting is another tool for setting an intention and is used primarily to set in motion an intention of 'feeling'. Scripting is done with pen and paper or keyboard and monitor, but it is most effective when your script ("intended feeling"), goes from thought, through your body and out your mouth and hands onto a physical thing. I use a notebook I keep on my nightstand. In the morning I take a few minutes, before getting out of bed to script what it is I want to feel for the day. Here's how it works.

Last week I noticed that I had become increasingly impatient and intolerant of certain behaviors of others. Such as, people who don't pick up after their dogs. And, people who throw cigarettes out of their car windows, onto the streets to be washed into the ocean. And, people who leave dirty, disposable diapers in parking lots, to name a few. To me, these behaviors are pretty much the same. It's dirty, thoughtless, selfish behavior, and shows laziness at it's peak. I didn't like how it made me feel when I let myself judge and dialog, in my mind, what I think of it all. Nothing I do or say will change others. All I can do is change how I feel. So, I scripted this:

"Today I want to feel patient, tolerant and accepting of life and people just as they are."

That afternoon, while at the dog park, I saw people talking on their cells phones, and reading the paper, while their dogs did their thing. I felt myself respond in the usual way. My blood pressure began to rise, my anger came up in my throat, my judgement of them as being 'idiot' human beings began the usual inner dialog and suddenly I remembered my script for the day. It happened quickly and was a gentle reminder of how I wanted to feel. "Today I want to feel patient, tolerant, and accepting of life and people just as they are." I took a deep breath and let it go. I mean, really let it go. What good was my anger and judgement doing? None.
On the contrary, it was making me feel bad. "Bad" is not in alignment with my intention

Feelings are energy. Energy attracts like energy. If I am walking around my life, judging, angrily, (justified or not) I am attracting more of the same into my life. Managing your emotions is managing your energy. Managing your energy is the Secret to successful manifestation of your intended purpose.

Were you wondering where I went?

I've been right here. But since I returned from the retreat I've had my daughter and her kids here for two weeks and this week I finished the redecorating job. I've been up and down ladders with buckets of paint, I've been moving furniture and shopping for area rugs. I've filled the garage with old tables, bookcases, bar stools and sofa tables and I'm waiting for Habitat for Humanity to come and pick it all up. I've taken down drapes, put up a new ceiling fan, and planted a fall garden. I've been up at dawn and fall into bed at midnight but it is nearly complete. The 64 inch mega giant television is for sale. It's a Sony rear projection monster that was eating up the space in my living room. I bought it for my mother three years ago because she is a football fan but I couldn't stand it any longer. I'm selling it for $500 which is a quarter of what I paid for it. I'll be listing it on Craigslist. The new Sony LCD High Def, skinny 47" is beautiful and the picture is amazing. It's a much better choice for our space. Anyway, I've been zooming about for two weeks now and still have this weekend to finish up the last of the packing before the truck comes to haul away the unnecessary stuff I've accumulated over the past 20 years. During all of this I've started a new class so I'm studying and practicing throughout the day. Sometimes I amaze my own self.

Something happened to me while I was up north in Mount Shasta. A healing happened. I'm feeling free, I'm feeling empowered, and I'm excited to see what's coming next.

Sorry I've been neglecting my blog.....did you miss me?

$100 Million? Are you kidding me?

Hirst had the glittering piece, which was modeled on a real skull, built from 32 platinum plates and 8,601 diamonds, using a hand laser to cut thousands of tiny diamond settings.

The work has a 52-carat pink diamond at its center and is studded with 14 pear-shaped diamonds.

Hirst said the piece, called “For the Love of God,” was meant to highlight the transience of human existence. Critics called the work flamboyant and showy, but that was business as usual for Hirst, who has consistently courted controversy — and huge sums of cash.

Labor Day Weekend Wedding

I never finished the story about my trip up to Oregon. I got side tracked by a visit from my daughter and her two kids. They arrived last Thursday and won't be going back to Phoenix until Monday. We have a family wedding on Sunday at Donald Trump's place in Palos Verdes. He built a golf course on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean and with it, a beautiful club house, restaurant and banquet facilities. My sister Linda's middle child is getting married there in front of about 250 guests. The whole family has talked of little else since they announced their plans last Labor Day Weekend. Dresses, shoes, hair styles, colors, flowers, gifts, parties, showers, and honeymoon plans, not to mention the guesstimate of the cost of all of the above has been the focus for this family.

The mother-of-the-bride gave the kids $30,000 and told them they could do with it what they wanted. I had hoped they would buy a house but Maggie (the bride) wants the fairy tale wedding she dreamed about as a young girl. I've heard that my nephew has added another $20,000 to make sure his bride gets what she wants. My sister and brother-in-law have added another $10,000 for the rehearsal dinner, bar tab and honeymoon.

I think that spending that kind of money for one day out of your life is a collosal waste of money...but I'm much more practical about those things. I'd rather buy a vacation home or flip a house.

As The Mind Wanders

While vacuuming the carpet just now, I came upon a memory that was stimulated by my last post regarding my yearning for a connection with a man of intelligence, integrity and availability. I wandered down memory lane, The Avenue of Romantic Adventures. I remembered how the Universe, Source or my Guardian Angels sent me a blaring message one day while driving on Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach, with a certain love interest sitting in the passenger seat. We were falling mad hot crazy in love, the two of us. He was definitely intelligent and available. Two down, one to go. We stopped at a red light, preparing to turn right onto Pacific Coast Highway, when a pedestrian began a slow and steady walk through the crosswalk. He was wearing a T-shirt with a message. It was like the "Got Milk?" campaign. But, his message asked, "Got Integrity?". My sexy new love bristled and snorted and mumbled something like, "What a geek." It really pushed his buttons. A red flag flew up right in front of my face. My instincts, my knowledge, my awareness knew full well what that meant. Against my better judgement I didn't listen. I had to learn the hard way. I should write a book, "I Did It The Hard Way!"

Oregon

After leaving Mount Shasta I felt amazing. I was peaceful and excited. I drove north to Ashland, Oregon to check out the Shakespeare Festival. I hadn't purchased tickets for "Romeo and Juliet" because I wasn't sure what my time frame would be. I am a romantic at heart and never tire of the story. I would have liked to have seen it but it wasn't to be. Instead I wandered about the shops and cafes in a blissful state. The weather was perfect, the time of day was lovely and I was floating in and out of shops.

By sunset it was time to move on. I drove into to Medford and checked into a cheap hotel for the night. I was asleep by 10.

Monday morning I left Medford and headed East. I wanted to see Klamath Falls. I expected there to be actual "Falls" but that turned out not to be the case. What I did see was well worth the drive. I happened upon a ground breaking ceremony for their Veterans Park. I watched five or six guys in army fatigues setting up chairs and a podium. 30 or so folding chairs sat under the shade of giant trees right next to the river. A plot of grass had been dug out and six shovels lay in a row. Some tables were set up and a banner hung. "Buy A Brick for Our Veterans Memorial" A poster was hanging that showed the design of what was coming and it was huge.

Next to the podium were 18 chairs, nine on each side. One by one people came and filled the seats. Many were in uniform. The color guard was brought to attention and we all stood as they brought out our flag and the flags of the different branches of the military. We all stood for the singing of our National Anthem. I am a very patriotic person. I'm often moved to tears at these things. I managed to stay composed, however.

After the opening ceremony and the initial speech from one of the men who was on the committee for this project, another man was introduced. He was a Vietnam Veteran who had been one of the first to be captured by the enemy. He was held in solitary confinement for four and a half years then moved to Hanoi. He spent a total of seven years as a POW. He told a story that sounded familiar to me. He was in his cell, alone, when he heard a knock. The old American knock familiar to a certain generation or two...."Shave and a haircut" He knocked back..."Two bits"
It turns out, this guy was in the cell next to John McCain. His story of torture and abuse made me think of the weekends meditation. ...Anyway, the ceremony ended with a serviceman from each branch marching out and taking a shovel. Simultaneously they made the first cut into the ground for the new memorial.

I love my country. I support our veterans and our active military. But, torture and abuse I will never support.

I left the park and walked over to the museum and spent an hour looking at the Native American History of art and artifacts. I have an affinity for the Native American people. It's in my blood. My father's grandmother was a native. It's funny. One one side of my family, my mother's side, the bloodline goes back to the 1600s invasion at Plymouth Rock. On my father's side, the Native American genocide. No wonder I'm conflicted! I'm often restimulated when I see the Native American photos and art. I've had more than a few lifetimes in America before it was The United States. I left the museum feeling anxious so I took a long walk to look at the architecture of the some of the historical buildings. Klamath Falls is doing a great job of restoring the old buildings and maintaining them. I stopped for lunch then headed back to my car after a few purchases along the way.

Next stop? Crater Lake!

What a trip!

I arrived in Sacramento at noon on Friday. The car I reserved turned out to be a pearly purple PT Cruiser convertible. >BIG SMILES< I put the top down and headed north on the 5 fwy. Four hours later I pulled into Mount Shasta, a two signal town. Seriously. It has two traffic lights on the main street. Keep in mind that I am an L.A. Woman. I have two traffic lights, one on each end of my street. I wouldn't know how to live in a small town where everyone knows your business. But my oh my...it is a beautiful place. It is a powerful place.

I had a couple of hours before the retreat was to begin so I checked into my hotel and went looking for a place for dinner. I found a cool looking place named Billy Goat Tavern. It had a deck shaded by trees that were growing right up through the floor. I spotted a small table in the corner, right next the the street and guess what? James Van Praagh had the same idea at the same time. What a coinkadink! He sat at a table next to mine with two of his lady friends and I sat right next to him at my own table. If I was the eavesdropping type of gal I would have picked up some tidbits but I kept to myself and minded my own business, for the most part.

I ordered, "Quite Possibly The Best Burger In The World". With a name like that, how could I not? And it was quite possibly the best burger I've ever had.

At 5:30 the doors to the community building opened and I went in to find a good seat. There were tables all around the walls piled high with books, Cd's, artwork, and jewelry for sale. There was also a very long table full of yummy desserts, coffee and teas. Everyone mingled and chatted.

At 6:30 James and Michael Tamura took the stage and the retreat began. Michael has a silly sense of humor, the kind that makes most people groan, but he made us laugh and that was good. He thinks we shouldn't take ourselves or our work so seriously. With 140 teachers, healers, light workers, authors, psychologists, therapists, doctors and students in the room, it was a good reminder. He told us his story of how he became the teacher and healer he is and gave us a general idea of what to expect over the next two days. He and James have been friends for many years so they were quite playful with each other and with the rest of us. Michael warned us that he has the ability to travel in his sleep. In fact, he struggles to stay in his body. Before the evening was over he suggested that we would see him in our dreams, where he would teach and heal us while we slept. I don't know if it was the power of suggestion or not but I swear I attended class all night long.

The doors opened at 8 AM on Saturday and the coffee and tea table was fully supplied. The buffet table had bowls of fresh strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. It had a veggie platter with dips and yogurt with granola. Someone brought a platter of cheeses, dips, crackers, lots of pastries. There was something for everyone, including chocolate cake. We stood around with our morning snacks and drinks and chatted about our dreams, our jobs, and exchanged business cards.
At 9:30 Michael got up on stage and rang the chimes for us to find our seats.

To tell you the truth, I didn't learn anything new that morning. I learned about Michael and his work, but nothing more about the healing work itself, at least nothing I didn't already know. By the lunch break I was a little disappointed that there wasn't any new information given that I could use in my practice. I left there and went to my hotel for a nap.

The afternoon session with James was not much different. He guided us through an interesting meditation to see past lives. It appeared to me that he was healing the group with his techniques rather than teaching us any of the how to's. He spent some time giving personal readings for some of the attendees. There was a woman whose daughter had died eight months ago, a man whose son had been shot in a drive-by, a woman who came from Germany who needed to hear from her dead mother. As I've said before, I didn't learn an awful lot watching this. It's what I do for a living, so...no biggie. By the end of Saturday I was beginning to think I had wasted my money and my time. Before he finished up on Saturday, he guided us through another healing meditation. I followed along and discovered a gall bladder problem that has reasserted itself. A nutritionist would say I've been eating the wrong foods and she wouldn't be wrong. A meta physician would ask, "What bitter thoughts are you holding on to?" A naturopathic doctor would give me herbs and flush my liver and gall bladder. He simply guided us through a meditation that literally lifted the energy out of my gall bladder. The discomfort left and it has yet to return. That was pretty amazing. It's a meditation I will be using with clients from now on and made the trip worth it.

I met some wonderful people and I bought some more books, one on reincarnation written by a man, a doctor, who believes he is, or was, John Adams. Have I told you that John Adams is my great-great-great-great-great grandfather? I had to have him sign my copy and he did, "Dear Elizabeth, It's great to meet my great, great, great granddaughter! God Bless, Walter Semkiw, M.D. aka John Adams"

That evening there was a private concert for us that I decided to pass on. Instead, I drove up to Panther Meadow half way up Mount Shasta. There is a story about St. Germain having been to that meadow and was confronted by a panther. He learned to surrender fear in order to befriend the beast. I took a short hike around the meadow and found a perfect place to sit and meditate. I watched the shadows grow long as the sun began to set. Finally, I got back in my purple car and headed back down to my hotel room.

Sunday was wonderful. The room was light with the energy our group was sharing. James and Michael commented on the fact that this particular combination of people and spirit guides was more advanced than they had anticipated. That would explain why it felt a bit like kindergarten for some of us. Because of that observation they decided to step it up and boy did they. We had several meditations that moved energy around and one that introduced us to our new spirit guides. Mine has wings. This is the first time I've had an angel as a guide. I've had a Saint, a holy woman, and now an angel. His name is Thomas. He will be working with me now and I'm really looking forward to getting to know him better.

By 2 PM, I didn't want it to end. I felt healed, enlightened and loved. My new friends and I exchanged phone numbers and promised to keep in touch. I checked out of my hotel and headed north into Oregon for a few days of contemplation.

More later...

Good morning,

Last night, as I was preparing for bed, I recalled one of the healing guided meditations James led on Sunday. He asked us to think of an issue in our lives, a pattern we were aware of in our lives, one we wanted to understand. He guided us with deep breathing and focused attention. He led us to a room where three curtains were. One curtain was made of silk, one of silver and one of gold. One by one we were to open the curtain to reveal a past life related to the issue we were focused on.

When I opened the first curtain of silk, I saw a good looking young man at a writing table. He was writing an important message, one that had him in a state of anxiety. He seemed angry, sad, and determined. Outside the window of the room where he was sitting was the scene that had motivated his emotional outrage. It was a coliseum where Christians were being fed to lions. People were cheering and the crowd was huge. The scene so disturbed him he could no longer contain his emotions and began to write about the injustice and barbaric practice of torture and murder. He had been traveling and had seen many atrocities, violent and brutal behavior that brought him to the point of protest. He was writing to protest the actions of the government. He was alone, he was determined to make a difference or die.

The second curtain I opened was the silver one. There was a scene from an earlier lifetime. A woman was chained and being whipped by a large man. She had no power, no strength and nobody to help her. She was a total victim of her sex. She was being beaten not because of her beliefs neccessarily, but because she was a woman, a weaker more vulnerable person. It was violence for no apparent reason. She hadn't committed a crime, she was a slave.

Behind the third, gold curtain was a young man wearing white stockings and shiney black shoes. He was well dressed and riding a horse with great excitement. It was a lifetime in the early years of our country, perhaps before the constitution was completed. He was riding fast and with great excitement and freedom. He felt powerful, hopeful and riding for a purpose greater than himself.

The meditation was rather short. When it was over I had no idea how these lifetimes were part of a current pattern. I know from doing this sort of work for many years, that the answer will be revealed in time. The pattern I was focused on was in the area of personal relationships. I am a loner, I have been single for most of my life. I am extremely independent but yet, I yearn for a connection with a man of integrity, intelligence, purpose and availability. I've yet to meet him.

In these lifetimes I was a man with education and integrity but not in a relationship because my purpose was more important to me than marriage or family.

In the second scene I was a victim of the overpowering anger and strength of ownership. Being independent allows me the freedom to never have to take another persons emotional crap.

In the last life, I was free. I was riding fast and hard and felt like I could fly. I was hopeful for a cause. My purpose was, once again, more important than the simple life of a farmer or father, or husband. I had a mission that was above the basic needs of body and heart.

More will be revealed.
